The Meal
i will chew the faces
of Mount Rushmore
whose grit cuts
my soft, lofty throat.
as i swallow rocks
sharp eyes bruise
my red insides.
intestines curve
at bitter angles.
fossil bones
liquefy beneath
earth’s hot spin skin
while i fish kiss
important men
in statue form,
before i begin
my meal on them.
